If to change ourselves is to change our worlds, and the relation is reciprocal, then the project of history making is never a distant one but always right here, on the borders of our sensing, thinking, feeling, moving bodies.
J.K. Gibson-Graham as quoted in Katherine Gibson and the Community Economies Research Network by David Bollier
Great stuff!
I really like that! Thank you for sharing, Stefanie!
I just ordered “Take Back the Economy” from my public library. The community economy iceberg is missing an important piece: timebanking!
Oh sbraik642 timebanking, yes! It’s a brilliant idea. My neighborhood started a Buy Nothing group a few months ago, I’m hoping we might be able to organize a time bank sometime. Sadly my library doesn’t have Take Back the Economy so I will need to put in an ILL request for it after I have gotten through a few other books 🙂
Thought-provoking! I like it.
It’s definitely a good one Laila! 🙂
